An organization seeking support must be determined by the Internal Revenue Service to be tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Private foundations, as defined in Section 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code, are not eligible for Foundation support. Only one Grant Application per organization may be considered per grant deadline date.

In general, Foundation support is not provided for:

  • Ongoing operating expenses
  • Endowment
  • Private education
  • Salaries
  • Scholarships
  • Sponsorships
  • Travel expenses
  • Technology
  • Security deposits or rent assistance

The Foundation does not make grants to:

  • Individuals
  • Religious organizations for religious purposes
  • Organizations which make grants to others
  • Lobbying or advocacy for specific political candidates or legislation

The  Grant Application process is now online.  Please use the following link to access our grants portal.  The WNY Grant Application is a 2-step process. This begins with completing the on-line Letter of Intent Form. If accepted, applicants will be invited to complete the on-line Grant Application Form. Site visits are scheduled after submission of the Grant Application.  Final decisions are made by the East Hill Foundation Board of Directors.
